Premiere Date Set for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Upcoming Netflix Series ‘Heart of Invictus

After securing an expansive deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Netflix’s first greenlit project is finally on its way.

Over two years following the approval of “Heart of Invictus,” a docuseries that captures the essence of the Invictus Games, the show is set to premiere on August 30th, exclusively on Netflix. Comprising five compelling episodes, the series will shadow international contenders as they vie for victory at the Invictus Games—an extraordinary international sports event Prince Harry established in 2014 for valiant individuals battling injuries and illnesses incurred during their service.

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, expressed his admiration for the Invictus Games community, calling them some of the world’s most courageous and devoted individuals hailing from 23 different nations. He conveyed, “‘Heart of Invictus’ weaves the incredible tale of competitors who came together through their shared commitment to service, now united by the spirit of sportsmanship.

Despite their varying stages of recovery from both visible and unseen injuries, these participants and their loved ones offer an inspiring glimpse into their journey towards the Invictus Games, evoking genuine admiration and respect.”

Taking a central role as an executive producer and an on-camera presence, Prince Harry is wholeheartedly dedicated to this project, which holds deep personal significance.

Although not an executive producer, Meghan Markle, his wife, remains integral to the project, as it stems from their joint production venture, Archewell Productions—a company that entered into a multi-year partnership with Netflix back in 2020.

This venture marks the third creative output from Archewell Productions in collaboration with Netflix. Preceded by the captivating “Harry & Meghan” docuseries that delved into their love story and challenges leading to their shift from royal duties, and “Live to Lead,” a thought-provoking series featuring conversations with influential global figures, this latest endeavor continues to amplify their creative prowess.

Beyond their Netflix endeavor, forged shortly after their move from the UK to California, Prince Harry and the former actor solidified a podcast deal with Spotify through their platform Archewell Audio.

While this collaboration concluded this summer after producing a single podcast series, Markle’s “Archetypes,” her recent signing with powerhouse agency WME indicates broader aspirations, with Archewell also under the agency’s wing to foster Markle’s global pursuits.

In the meantime, Markle’s acting breakthrough, “Suits,” has surged in popularity on both Netflix and Peacock, captivating a new generation of viewers who are rediscovering the show’s allure and originally aired on USA Network.

“Heart of Invictus” embarks on the odyssey of contenders hailing from around the world—military personnel whose lives have been irrevocably altered by injuries and ailments.

The series will intimately accompany these individuals on their expedition to the Invictus Games in The Hague, chronicling their training while unveiling narratives of unyielding resilience and unshakable hope.

This inspiring series is a collaborative effort with The Invictus Games Foundation, a charity fervently devoted to aiding the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured, and sick military personnel and veterans through the medium of sports.
