Mudryk’s journey at Stamford Bridge has been a rollercoaster ride since his £89 million transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in January. However, his performance in the first half hinted at a potential turning point in his Chelsea career.
The Ukrainian forward opened the scoring in the 18th minute, skillfully controlling Levi Colwill’s delicately lofted cross with his chest before slotting the ball past Bernd Leno. Nonetheless, Chelsea fans may be worried as Mudryk was substituted at halftime due to unknown reasons.
Just a minute later, Armando Broja extended Chelsea’s lead with his first goal since his return from a serious knee injury sustained back in October 2022. This win propelled Chelsea to 11th place in the Premier League standings.
Fulham, on the other hand, struggled to create significant goal-scoring opportunities. Their best chance of the match came in the second half when Sasa Lukic’s close-range shot was expertly denied by Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.
